Sometimes after a long day chasing toddlers when I’m looking forward to curling up on the couch with a bowl of ice cream watching tv, Mark will come up with a great idea to make something. After I get over the initial “this is not how I planned to spend my evening,” it always turns out to be just what I needed to recharge. Guess I just love making things, it’s a weird sense of accomplishment for me. Well two nights ago he decided he needed a Celtic leather watchband. I guess creativity is spontaneous like that. He sketched out his idea and I got to work. Progress shots:
Mark stained it red, and I sewed it up with some metal pieces from an old canvas watchband we took apart.
What do you think? I’m pretty happy with it, for it being my first watchband to make! Now just bracing myself for when he spontaneously asks for a handmade belt. Or shoes.
